Let's Turn Back the Clock: 2001
Way back in the year 2001, our company was born. Imagine a time when no one shopped for furniture online. Imagine a life without Facebook (gasp) or Twitter (omg!). Imagine a life without Sexy Furnishings. Ok that might be too much to handle.
We started out with one product (the World Famous High Heel Shoe Chair) and one goal in mind: bring cool funky furniture to the masses at affordable prices. A lofty goal? Well maybe but remember back then we all had visions of grandeur what with the Internet just getting going.
So how did it all start? Well, we (did we mention we're family-owned?) went on a trip back in June 2000 to Boston to shop the luxe shops on Newbury Street. If you've never been there it's basically shopping mecca. We spotted quite possibly the most unique piece of furniture ever invented: a giant chair shaped like a High Heel Stiletto Shoe. The price tag? $1,500!!!
So being the entrepreneurs that we are, we decided that there's got to be a way to get this funky shoe chair made for a cheaper price. We went on a whirlwind tour over the next 10 months in search for the right partner to make this modern high heel chair for us. Alas, we found a factory that was just perfect for us and by April 2001 we launched with just one product on our site.
Well, now it's 15 years later and despite two recessions, a couple of wars, the passing of the King of Pop, and Britney Spears' fall from grace, Sexy Furnishings is thriving. With over 1,000 modern furniture products for sale and new products being added every month, we believe we're well on our way toward bringing our cool funky furniture to the masses at affordable prices.
We're so grateful that you have come to our site. Please check out everything we have and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to call us at: 888.773.9938.
